====== The Clever Girl's Climax ======

Many years ago, when a person could be thrown in prison for debt, there lived a merchant in London who was misfortunate to run into debt and owe a great sum of money to his money-lender. \\
The latter was old and ugly and deeply in love with the merchant's young daughter, which was not quite the case with her.  \\
Nevertheless, sensing that his lucky chance had come to get his happy marriage, the money-lender, who was not an especially honest old man, came up with an offer to forgive the debt, if the merchant married off his beautiful daughter to him. \\
The unfortunate father was shocked by the offer - he would sooner go to prison than see his beloved daughter as wife of that nasty and ugly man. However,  the artful money-lender would not recede and this time suggested casting lots to settle the matter with the help of Lady Luck by letting the girl draw one of two little pebbles of different colour:  black and white. \\
The conditions were simple as that - if she got the black pebble, she must marry him; if she got the white pebble, she would remain with her father. \\
The both cases would make the debt paid off. But if the girl refused to draw lots, her father would be taken to prison, and she would starve to death. So very much reluctantly did the merchant and his daughter have to agree!
They happened to have their conversation on a garden path covered with gravel, which provided them with suitable pebbles for lots to draw. When the money-lender bent down for pebbles, the merchant's daughter noticed that he picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. \\
A cunning old thing that money-lender was! After that he asked the girl to draw the lots and determine the fate of her father and the one of her own.

Как нужно/можно закончить повествование = какую логическую/сюжетную развязку (= climax) сделать, чтобы девушка одним разом/поступком: 1) осталась с отцом и не умерла с голоду; 2) отвязалась от назойливого жениха; 3) отцу простились долги?
