Richard Sinclair worked (work) for a zoo.
He was (be) a hunter.
When the zoo wanted (want) new animals, Richard went (go) out and caught (catch) them.
One year the zoo needed (need) some African tree monkeys so Richard went (go) to Africa to catch some.
He took (take) a new assistant with him. Richard also took (take) a very large dog with him. It was (be) an angry dog
and it had (have) very large, sharp teeth. It often bit (bite) people so Richard tied (tie) a piece of rope around the dog's mouth to keep it closed.
They went (go) into the jungle to an area where the tree monkeys lived (live).
When they saw (see) a tree monkey in a tall tree in front of them, Richard took (take) out a large bag and a gun. He gave (give) them to the assistant.
"What will I do with these?" the assistant asked (ask).
"I will climb (climb) the tree. Then I will shake (shake) the tree very hard and a monkey will fall (fall) out of it."
The assistant thought (think) for a minute. Then he said (say),
"But the monkey is (be) very fast and it will run (run) away before I can (can) catch it."
"Don't worry," Richard replied (reply). "Take (take) the rope from the dog's mouth.
It is (be) very angry and very fast. It will catch (catch) the monkey and bite (bite) it with its sharp teeth.
The dog will hold (hold) the monkey in its mouth. You follow (follow) the dog and put (put) the monkey in the bag.
Very easy. Very simple and it works (work) every time. Do you understand what to do?"
The assistant said (say),"But what do I need the gun for?"
Richard smiled (smile) and said (say), "If I fall (fall) out of the tree, shoot (shoot) the dog."
